The Kentville Volunteer Fire Department has facilities on site to accommodate small meetings to a large cateredfunction.  The rooms are bright can be arranged to accommodate your varying needs. 

 

The KVFD is located at 463 Main Street in the heart of Kentville.Our facilities are wheel chair accessible.

Auditorium

This room is ideal for large meeting groups, weddings, and other catered events. This room can accommodate 325 people.

Dimensions – 68’ x 66’

Cost per day - $300

Training Room

This room is located in the main office section of the building and can accommodate 30 people classroom style.  This is suitable for meetings, presentations and workshops.  It is equipped with a TV,DVD and internet services.

 

Dimensions – 23’ x 24’

 

Cost per day - $60

 

Boardroom

This carpeted, private room has a capacity of 14 and is ideal for small meetings and workshops.

 

Dimensions – 15’ x 25’

 

Cost per day - $60.00

 

Other Important Information

Catering

 

The KVFD has a Ladies Auxiliary that can accommodate catering needs from the months of September to May.  June and July they do not take requests for catering needs.  Menu selections and contract must be signed 3 months prior to event.  In some cases the KVFD will waive the rental fee if the Ladies Auxiliary is hired to cater. Contact the Administrative Assistant for details.

Kitchen

If the client wishes to bring in an outside caterer there is a fee to use the kitchen and its contents.  The kitchen must be left in the condition itwas found.  Please take a tour of the kitchen with your caterer to ensure their needs are met.

Cost per day - $75

 

Equipment

The Auditorium is equipped with a sound system, podium, and microphone. 

 

LCD projector – is available for use.  Your own laptop will be required to run any presentation.

TV and DVD player are available for use in the auditorium.

 

Please let us know if you require any of this technology in advance of your event.

 

Decorations

Add your own touch to the function room with centerpieces, customized draping, personalized linens, and similar accessories.  All decorations must be removed the same day.  No sparklers,rice, confetti, or sequins are permitted. Nothing can be tacked or taped to the walls.    If you have hired a professional decorator please let us know any special requirements and when they will be coming.

 

Bar

A cash bar is available upon request.   For wedding receptions we do allow wine to be put on the tables to be served for toasts only.  Please notify us if this is taking place.  A special occasion liquor license is required for any event, and is required to be submitted to the KVFD one month prior to the event.

Parking

The KVFD has parking around the town perimeter, across the street and behind the building at the Arena.  Please do not park in the Save Easy parking lot – violators will be towed at their own expense.

 

Payment

A deposit of $150 will be taken at the time of booking for the Auditorium. 

 

All rental fees must be paid one week in advance of your event.

Deposits are returned by cheque after inspection of the facility.

 

Storage

We have limited on site storage so please ensure that any items you have brought with you or rented can be accommodated.  Verify all these details with us before bringing anything on site.

 

Room set-up/clean up

The KVFD does provide set up and clean up of the facility.  Please ensure you have submitted your requirements one month in advance to ensure we can accommodate all of your needs.

 

Going Green Initiative

KVFD has started an initiative of “GoingGreen” with the RRFB.  We have clearly outlined the guidelines for recycling, compost and garbage and provided the necessary bins to accommodate this. Please help us with this initiative as you are renting our facility.

 

Prices and Menu Selections

These are subject to change without notice.  HST will be applies to all room rental charges.

 

Damages

Clients are responsible for any damages done to the Facility and/or its premises. 

 

Limitation of Liability

The KVFD will not be responsible for the damage to or loss of any property of the client, or injury to any person occurring while on the premises, prior to, during, or following any function.

 

Conduct

The client agrees to conduct themselves in a manner befitting of the dignity of the KVFD and its members.
